OGCE2 1.0 Downloads

These archival download links are provided for users interested in running a portal using the uPortal 2.4.2 framework. They also can be used to deploy portlets in GridSphere 2.0 and 2.1 containers.

For installation instructions,click here.

Click the link below to get the release candidate in the desired bundle format. Installation instructions are included in the downloads. Checksums and block counts are obtained with the Unix sum command. Use md5sum to check the message digest. We recommend installation on UNIX or Linux servers with real IP addresses.

Release Notes

2/03/06: 1.0.2 is a maintenance update of 1.0.1

  1. The ogce2/certificates/maven.xml and cog.properties files were corrected.

12/15/05: 1.0.1 is a maintenance update of 1.0

  1. Support for GridSphere 2.1.1 verified.
  2. Maven.xml's tomcat-start target corrected for GridSphere.
  3. GridSphere file upload bug corrected.
  4. Castor-0.9.3.jar removed from /shared/lib to avoid GridSphere class

11/11/05: 1.0 completes the Core Velocity Grid portlet releases with

  1. Example Sakai collaboration portlets.
  2. Velocity-based IFrame portlets.
  3. Optional Grid Single Sign On modules for GridSphere.
  4. Supports Globus Toolkit 2.4 services and Toolkit 4.0 web services.
  5. Tested against NMI R5.1, R7, and R8 relesase.

8/01/05: RC5 extends RC4 with the following features:

  1. Support for for Globus Toolkit 4.0 through new CoG 4 interfaces.
  2. Supports Globus Toolkit 2.4 services and Toolkit 4.0 web services.
  3. Tested against NMI R5.1 and R7 releases.
  4. Allows dynamic, runtime binding to different Globus toolkit versions. The same portlets can be used to bind to different Globus installations.
  5. Enhancements to Velocity support.

4/02/05: RC4 provides several new features.

  1. Support for for Globus Toolkit 3.0 and 3.2 OGSI services.
  2. Several new uPortal skins.
  3. A patched uPortal user manager for improved account management.

1/25/05: RC3-1 corrects uPortal XSL skin problem

  1. RC3-1 deletes a non-printing character in one of the modified uPortal XSL files that caused problems for some browsers.

1/05/05: RC3 adds unit tests

  1. RC3 includes a suite of HttpUnit tests for the Proxy Manager, GridFTP, GRAM, and GPIR portlets. See INSTALL.txt in the download for information.
  2. There are no significant changes in the basic grid portlets from RC2.

12/05/04: RC2 updates several items.

  1. An incompatibility with maven 1.0.1's method of handling remote repositories has been fixed.
  2. GridFTP upload has been improved.
  3. Installation instructions have been updated to explain a post-installation modification to Tomcat that is required to use GridFTP download.
  4. Job submission's action handling has been updated to use the velocity libraries included in the library.

Maven Repository Problems

If you experience problems downloading jars with maven, you can download the required maven repositories below, in either .zip or .tar.gz format. Unpack either one in your home directory to create a .maven subdirectory.

OGCE 1.1 Download

This page contains archival download links to the OGCE 1.x releases. These releases are obsolete and not compatible with JSR 168 standards. OGCE 1.1

OGCE 1.0

OGCE portal release 1.0-b2 is avalable for download. This revised release is leaner, with less redundant jars, and contains bug fixes and updates to many portlets.

Click the link below to download the portal. Also be sure to download required third party software listed below.

The original OGCE portal release 1.0-b1 is also avalable for download.

With the excpetion of MySQL jars, the downloads include everything you need to deploy the portal in a single, integrated build, including:

  1. A configured Jakarta-Tomcat-4.1.18 web server
  2. A patched version of Jakarta-Jetspeed-1.4.b2.
  3. The portal software itself, including many third party jars.

Required Third Party Downloads

  • To build the portal, you need Apache Ant 1.5.x or higher.
  • The OGCE portal uses MySQL database connectors, but because of licensing issues, we cannot include these jars in our release. You should download MySQL/J-Connector Version 2.0, available from here.

You must download this jar separately and place it in the portal/chef-1.0.7 directory before installing the portal. More detailed instructions are included in the download documentation.
